A graduate of the Royal College of Music, London, Ellie received tuition from Paul Beniston, Paul Archibald, and Andrew Crowley. With the RCM Orchestras she worked with highly acclaimed conductors Bernard Heitink, Andrew Litton, Martin André and Peter Stark, and in 2007 her quintet was awarded the RCM Brass Ensemble prize.
Professionally Ellie has performed with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Orchestra of the Swan, BBC National Orchestra of Wales Brass Ensemble, the British Philharmonic, English National Opera Brass, the London Brass Virtuosi, and in her youth played principal trumpet with the Hertfordshire County Youth Orchestra and the London Phoenix Orchestra. She has been a member of the University of London Symphony Orchestra and in 2004, she enjoyed joining the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain in their Promenade concert.
Solo-wise, her trumpet and piano duo give recitals in London, Hertfordshire and for music clubs. Recently performing at St James, Piccadilly and the Braughing Music Society, they were reviewed as having "technical prowess, producing lightness and softness of tone...brilliant...colourful". She has also performed concertos with orchestras in London and Hertfordshire, and in 2008 was a finalist in the RCM Concerto Competition.
On the lighter side, Ellie has toured with pop-soul artist Seal, enjoys playing for shows and was asked to dep in the West End 'Guys and Dolls'. TV appearances have included Channel 4's 'The Friday Night Project', BBC's 'Maestro', and the BBC News. She has performed for the Queen, with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and is a member of the funk-rock outfit Hanzo
